Proud Mom Moment

Updated: Sep 27, 2021

My daughter has been working on her bachelor's degree since her 10th-grade summer of high school. She set a goal to finish two years of college while in high school. She poured countless hours into not only going to high school but being involved in extracurricular activities as well as attending night classes and online classes to get a jumpstart on her bachelor's degree. She accomplished that goal, she graduated with honors from high school also received honor cords from her junior college. Might I add she did all this while being working part-time, and volunteering in our community.

She by far did not graduate top of her class but what she had going for her was that she has heart and she has drive! You can be the smartest person alive but I have witnessed if your lazy it will not do you any good.

She has had to climb several mountains to finish her bachelor's degree in two years but Lord willing she will graduate soon with her bachelor's degree at the age of 19. She has wanted to be a Physical Therapist since age 15. There have been times she thought of changing her major because she did not think she had what it took to complete it. It has been tough but her dad and I always said it's not when you finish it's the fact you set a goal and you work for it. We have always said if you have a dream don't give up because it gets tough.

She applied to an accelerated DPT program imagine that my daughter wanting an accelerated program. She had gotten discouraged because she did not have top scores but what she did have was an outstanding resume that proved she was hardworking and dedicated. She got the phone call that she had been accepted!

Happy tears from all of us! She is on the road to fulfilling her dream! Prayers appreciated for her and her parents.
